Dear Parish Family:
I am struck by the significance of the leap year. It's a unique time when we add an extra day to our calendars, a reminder of the intricacies of timekeeping and the adjustments needed to keep our schedules aligned with the natural rhythms of God’s universe.
But beyond its practical implications, the leap year holds a deeper symbolism, especially for those of us who adhere to the Catholic faith. It prompts us to reflect on the concept of taking a "leap of faith," a phrase often used to describe the act of trusting in something beyond our immediate understanding or tangible evidence.
For us, as Catholics, this leap of faith is intertwined with our belief in the Holy Spirit—the divine presence that guides and inspires us on our spiritual journey. It calls us to trust in God's plan, even when the path ahead seems uncertain or challenging.
It is with great joy and gratitude that I reflect on the remarkable leap of faith our parish embraced. Through the visionary leadership and tireless efforts of our parish ministry leaders and parishioners, we have witnessed an extraordinary expansion in our ministry, now reaching over 3,000 individuals at St Charles on any given Sunday, celebrating Mass. This incredible milestone is a testament to the transformative power of God's grace and the unwavering commitment of our faith community.
Many may not know that we have had to finance a great portion of the building costs. We currently have a loan balance of $15 million. Each month we pay $119 thousand with $59 thousand of this paying down the principal.
If each one of us were to increase our weekly tithe and offerings by just $10 a week, we could expedite the retirement of the construction debt of St. Charles in record time. This modest increase, when combined with the contributions of our entire congregation, has the potential to make a significant impact and bring us closer to financial freedom.
I understand that times may be challenging for some of us, but we firmly believe that together, we can achieve this goal through collective effort and sacrifice. By committing to this initiative, we demonstrate our unwavering dedication to the prosperity and longevity of our parish.
I invite you to join me in taking advantage of this opportunity to make a significant difference in the life of our church. Simply add the extra gift with your weekly envelope or make the extra gift in the Sunday collection. Together, let us move forward in faith and generosity to pay off the debt of the Church of St. Charles Borromeo.

Desafío del salto de fe

Querida familia parroquial:
Me sorprende la importancia del año bisiesto. Es un momento único en el que agregamos un día adicional a nuestros calendarios, un recordatorio de las complejidades del cronometraje y los ajustes necesarios para mantener nuestros horarios alineados con los ritmos naturales del universo de Dios.
Pero más allá de sus implicaciones prácticas, el año bisiesto encierra un simbolismo más profundo, especialmente para aquellos de nosotros que nos adherimos a la fe católica. Nos impulsa a reflexionar sobre el concepto de dar un "acto de fe", una frase que se usa a menudo para describir el acto de confiar en algo que está más allá de nuestra comprensión inmediata o evidencia tangible.
Para nosotros, como católicos, este acto de fe está entrelazado con nuestra creencia en el Espíritu Santo, la presencia divina que nos guía e inspira en nuestro viaje espiritual. Nos llama a confiar en el plan de Dios, incluso cuando el camino que tenemos por delante parece incierto o desafiante.
Es con gran alegría y gratitud que reflexiono sobre el notable acto de fe que adoptó nuestra parroquia. A través del liderazgo visionario y los esfuerzos incansables de nuestros líderes ministeriales parroquiales y feligreses, hemos sido testigos de una expansión extraordinaria de nuestro ministerio, que ahora llega a más de 3,000 personas en St Charles en cualquier domingo, celebrando Misa. Este increíble hito es un testimonio de la transformación poder de la gracia de Dios y el compromiso inquebrantable de nuestra comunidad de fe.
